We Welcome KIPP SoCal Academy of Opportunity

Our very own Cheryl Epps recently attended the Back to School Night at KIPP SoCal Academy of Opportunity, located in South Los Angeles. During this event, she was invited to address the students, parents and faculty about our new partnership, the history of KMC and how effective peer mediation can be in a Middle School setting. She also discussed the importance of supporting their youth and faculty through the development, training and implementation process. A few parents inquired further, stating that they were interested in having their child participate.

KMC congratulates and welcomes KIPP as one of our new grant recipient partner schools. We are excited to work with them throughout the school year as they receive conflict resolution training and implement their peer mediation program.

About Kids Managing Conflict

Kids Managing Conflict is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and the charitable and educational arm of the Southern California Mediation Association (SCMA). Since 2007, KMC has supported and promoted peer mediation programs in K–12 schools, teaching youth the skills to manage conflict peacefully and carry those lessons into adulthood.

Join us in shaping the next generation of peacemakers—through partnership, sponsorship, or a donation today. Together, we can build stronger schools and communities where students learn to resolve conflicts with respect and empathy.
